About The Chef
My name is Bernadette Loweree, I am a typical all American girl with a Texas twist. Born and raised in El Paso where my passion for food was ignited, I bring you my Hispanic heritage and love of ethnic foods.
I attended The Art Institute of Houston and received my Associate of Applied Science degrees in Culinary Arts and in Restaurant & Catering Management. I graduated with honors and perfect attendance.
While at The Art Institute, I received a gold medal at Texas State Junior Culinary Hot Foods Competition in 2001 and a silver medal at Central Region Junior Culinary Hot Foods Competition in 2001.
I was President of the Great Chefs Club, President of the Pastry Club and Secretary of the National Vocational Technical Honor Society. I participated in 3 overseas programs where we learned the culture of the area, visited local markets and attended cooking schools in Sicily, France and China.
Most recently I have been employed by Pappas Restaurants, Inc. as a kitchen manager. While employed with Pappas I have received 16 Guest Driven Awards. This is awarded to someone when a satisfied guest calls the home office to let them know they received outstanding customer service while dining in a Pappas restaurant.
